THE #1 WAY TO PROTECT THE BEES "PROTECT THEIR HABITAT"

WE'RE PROTECTING UK LAND FROM BEING DESTROYED AND WE NEED YOU!

how_5579015

HOW WE DO IT

Farmers across the UK are struggling financially, leading them to sell or lease their land. This results in the destruction of vital bee habitats, putting our pollinators at risk.

what_5578787

WHAT WE'RE DOING

We’re paying farmers more than they’d earn from leasing their land, turning it into bee-friendly sanctuaries with wildflowers and protected habitats.

help_6356636

WHY WE NEED YOU

We’re fully self-funded, and every penny goes towards saving land for bees. Your donations can help stop the collapse of these essential pollinators.

YOUR DONATIONS PROTECT WILDFLOWER FIELDS FROM BEING DESTROYED

For just £2, you can protect 1 square metre of land—planting wildflowers, cultivating bee-friendly habitats, and maintaining it to ensure a thriving haven for pollinators. From bee-safe hives to mini bee hotels for traveling bees seeking shelter from bad weather, every donation helps create a safe, sustainable space for our essential pollinators.

You might think one small patch of wildflowers can’t make a difference, but it does. Every square metre saved is a metre spared from destruction by construction, landfills, mining, and other industries harming our environment. Together, we can make every bit of land count.

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY

1: When will the bees be extinct

Bees face a critical decline due to habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change, and disease, threatening ecosystems and biodiversity. A 2020 Nature study revealed that climate change is pushing many species closer to extinction by disrupting their habitats. Similarly, a 2021 study highlighted a sharp global drop in wild bee species, with many becoming less common or disappearing entirely (Indiana University Biology). While not yet extinct, the ongoing decline demands urgent action. Conservationists stress the need for habitat restoration, sustainable farming, and reduced pesticide use to protect bees and the ecosystems they support.

2: How you can help

Bees are vital to our planet, pollinating the plants that sustain ecosystems and provide the food we eat. Yet, their habitats are disappearing at an alarming rate due to urbanisation, agriculture, and climate change. Protecting and restoring these habitats is critical to safeguarding the future of bees and the balance of nature they help maintain. We’re committed to creating a world where bees can thrive. By joining our campaigns, you can take meaningful action—whether by supporting local conservation projects, advocating for sustainable farming practices, or raising awareness about the importance of pollinator-friendly spaces. Together, we can protect the natural habitats that bees depend on, ensuring a brighter future for them and for us all. Get involved today and make a difference!

Celebrities taking action

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has demonstrated a profound commitment to bee conservation through her collaboration with Guerlain's "Women for Bees" initiative. This programme, established in partnership with UNESCO, aims to empower women beekeepers globally while promoting biodiversity and sustainable development.

In 2021, Jolie underwent beekeeper training in France, immersing herself in the intricacies of apiculture. Her involvement extends beyond advocacy; she actively participates in the programme's activities, highlighting the critical role bees play in ecosystems and the importance of their preservation.

Jolie's dedication is evident in her hands-on approach and her efforts to raise awareness about the challenges facing bee populations. By leveraging her public platform, she brings attention to the environmental issues threatening bees, such as habitat loss and climate change. Her work with Guerlain underscores a commitment to environmental sustainability and the empowerment of women in conservation efforts.

Through the "Women for Bees" programme, Jolie contributes to training and supporting women beekeepers worldwide, fostering community development and environmental stewardship. Her passion for bee conservation reflects a broader dedication to preserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices.

Morgan Freeman Has Converted His 124-Acre Ranch in American Into Honeybee Sanctuary

In 2014, actor Morgan Freeman transformed his 124-acre Mississippi ranch into a sanctuary for honeybees, addressing the alarming decline in their populations. He introduced 26 beehives to the property and cultivated bee-friendly flora, including magnolia trees, lavender, and clover, to support their habitat. Freeman's initiative underscores the critical role bees play in pollination and the broader ecosystem. By creating this sanctuary, he contributes to the preservation of these essential pollinators, highlighting the importance of individual efforts in environmental conservation.

They're helping, and so can you!

For less than the price of a coffee, you can help protect a portion of wildflower land from being used as waste, farm or construction land. £2 sounds like a little amount, but it really does make a difference.

Unraveling the Impact of Global Warming on Bee Activity

bustling-beehive-activity

Long-Term Data Analysis

We're committed to collecting and analyzing data on bee activity over extended periods. This involves tracking changes in population size, flight patterns, and pollination rates. By understanding these trends, we can draw correlations between bee behavior and environmental shifts, providing valuable insights into their long-term health.

Identifying Climate Impact

Our research focuses on how global warming influences bee activity. Rising temperatures and changing weather patterns can affect flowering times and habitat availability, which in turn impacts bee populations. By studying these effects, we can better understand the specific challenges bees face due to climate change.

Adaptive Conservation Strategies

Based on our findings, we develop adaptive strategies to support bee resilience. This includes creating climate-resilient habitats, adjusting conservation practices, and advocating for policies that mitigate climate change effects. Our goal is to ensure that bee populations can thrive despite environmental changes.
